Bacterial Microcompartments:  Bacterial microcompartments represent distinct structures exclusive to particular bacterial strains. They fulfill crucial roles, notably the segregation of precise metabolic reactions for improved efficiency and cellular protection. The Sinha Lab is devoted to elucidating the connection between structure and function, with a primary focus on understanding how the physical characteristics of these compartments shape their biological functions. To achieve this, we employ a comprehensive array of techniques, encompassing biochemical, microbiological, cell biological, spectroscopic, microscopic, and calorimetric approaches. Our aim is to delve into the dimensions, genetic alignment, compositions, and their consequential impact on the processes in which BMCs participate.
